At Caritas Goa, we take pride in coordinating relief operations for victims of calamities, such as earthquakes, plague prevention, cyclones, and floods. We are dedicated to providing immediate assistance and support to affected communities in their time of need. Here’s how we are making a difference:
Coordinated Relief Operations: In the face of calamities, our dedicated team coordinates relief operations efficiently and effectively. We work closely with local authorities, partner organizations, and volunteers to ensure a coordinated response. Our goal is to provide timely aid to affected individuals and communities, addressing their immediate needs and restoring a sense of stability.
Securing and Dispatching Funds: We actively secure funds to support relief efforts. Last year, we successfully secured funds for the Jammu and Kashmir Floods and promptly dispatched the amounts to Caritas India. Currently, we are engaged in fund collection for the Nepal Earthquake. These funds play a critical role in providing vital resources, including food, shelter, medical aid, and other essentials, to those affected by calamities.
Collaborative Efforts: We believe in the power of collaboration. We work hand in hand with local communities, government agencies, and national and international organizations to pool our resources, knowledge, and expertise. By joining forces, we can maximize our impact and ensure that relief reaches those who need it most.
Long-term Rehabilitation: Our commitment goes beyond immediate relief. We understand the importance of long-term rehabilitation and recovery. We engage in activities that promote sustainable development, including rebuilding infrastructure, providing livelihood support, and offering psycho-social counseling to help survivors rebuild their lives and regain hope for the future.
